INSTALLATION GUIDE: YOUR NEXT-GEN BONNET STRIPES

CRITICAL STEP: THE TRANSFER TAPE

Before you start peeling, lay the decals flat on a table. Take a credit card or squeegee and firmly rub (burnish) over the clear transfer tape.

• Why? This ensures the vinyl "grabs" the clear tape.
• The Goal: When you peel the white backing paper away, the vinyl must stay stuck to the clear transfer tape. If it doesn't, lay it back down and rub it harder.

PREPARATION

The bonnet must be 100% free of dust, wax, or ceramic coatings. Wash with soapy water, dry, and wipe with rubbing alcohol or benzine. Vinyl will not stick to wax or polish.

CHOOSE YOUR INSTALLATION METHOD

OPTION A: THE WET METHOD (Recommended for beginners)

Best for getting perfect alignment, as you can slide the pieces around.

1. Spray: Mix water in a spray bottle with one drop of dish soap. Lightly spray the bonnet and the sticky side of the vinyl as you peel it.
2. Position: Place the decal down. Slide it until it is perfectly aligned with the bonnet lines.
3. Squeegee: Use a credit card to push all water out from under the decal, working from the center to the edges.
4. Wait: Wait 15–20 minutes for it to "tack" down.
5. Peel: Slowly remove the clear tape by pulling it back flat against the bonnet.

OPTION B: THE DRY METHOD (Best for experienced installers)

Best for a quick install, but you only get one chance to stick it!

1. Peel: Carefully peel the white backing off, ensuring the vinyl stays on the clear tape.
2. Align: Hold the stripe over the bonnet and touch one edge down first.
3. Apply: Slowly lay the rest down, using a squeegee to prevent air bubbles as you go.
4. Peel: Immediately remove the clear transfer tape by pulling it back flat against the bonnet.

PRO TIP: If the vinyl tries to lift with the clear tape, stop! Lay it back down, rub it firmly with your thumb, and try peeling again from a different corner.
