1. Clean the Surface: Mix a few drops of dishwashing liquid with warm water. Clean the recessed tailgate lettering area thoroughly to remove all dirt, grease, and wax.

2. Dry Completely: Wipe the area down and ensure the surface is 100% dry before applying the adhesive.

3. Test Fit First: Place each letter into its matching recessed spot on the tailgate before removing the backing tape to verify alignment and positioning.
